recent studies (uwaterloo, canada, 2002) have shown that pouring water thru finely ground coffee beans in a drip filter can remove up to 85% of lead, copper, and other heavy metals from the water through chelating process.
I believe steeping of tea leaves may have a similar effect. Anyone who may have evidence of that, or who wishes to fund a study of it, please email me.
